As the swag for the 2015 Insane Charity Bike ride was ridiculously slow in getting to people (completely my fault, for reasons I’ve touched on here before), I wanted to double-down, and make sure the swag for the 2016 event got out faster than ever before.
And it looks like it’s on track to do just that!
The Army of Dorkness buttons and the Cloisonné pins are done, and with Fulfillment Gurus David now. The Munchkin Charity postcards are done, printed, and just waiting to be signed…and then I send those off to David, as well:
The last bit-o-swag is the Pat Rothfuss limerick mini-print, and that should go to press this week:
(Pat’s limerick will go on the obvious black space. Want to know what it is? Well, you shoulda backed the bike ride! KIDDING! There’ll still be a chance for you to see it – the uncolored version of the mini-print will go in the brand-new charity coloring book, which you can get by backing next year’s ride!)
Anyway, once the mini-prints come back from the printer, they go on to Pat to be signed, then I sign them, and then the 2016 swag is DONE!
Thank you all again for making the 2016 Insane Charity Bike Ride the most successful yet! And if production stays on target, it’ll be the quickest we’ve ever gotten swag pout to backers!
It’s an understatement to say I’m ridiculously grateful for the many, many folks who are generous with their time and donations, helping make my now-annual Insane Charity Bike Ride meet its fundraising goals. Prime example – Neil Gaiman wrote an utterly delightful limerick, just for supporters. Last year I illustrated it, and backers received it as a mini-print. Here it is, […]
Today I finished inking the limited edition Insane Charity Bike Ride 2016 Munchkin Charity postcard (it lets you start a game of Munchkin at Level 3). Name? HIGHER PORPOISE! (I’d like to think Andrew Hackard has taught me well, when it comes to Munchkin Puns. Hopefully, this makes him proud. And “proud” is not a […]
I’m packing for Gen Con, and guess what’s going with me? ALL THE 2015 BIKE THE BARNS SWAG, to be handed off to David Michael, Fulfillment Guru of the Gods (and of me). It took a lot longer getting the swag out for last year’s ride than I’d hoped. Also, it’s pushed back fundraising for […]
Hey, all, This weekend, I’ll be a guest at Atlanta Game Expo/Southern Fried Game Expo, at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center. It’s a short trip for me, and my schedule’s light. But I’ll be there! Bring on the Chicken and Waffles! I’ll try and make myself available throughout the con, but at […]
Hi there! It’s been, what (Takes out pocket watch. Glances at it.) four months since I’ve posted any updates here? OOPS! Oh, ha. What an absent-minded silly I can be. (Puts watch away. Gets ready to bolt.) Eeeek. Um, errrr…what can I say? It’s been a busy time, and I’m sorry things have slipped a bit, on […]
A quick update: With nine days to go, I’m amazed and delighted to say that you guys have raised 94% of the fundraising goal for my Insane Charity Bike Ride 2015 that I sort of feared might be impossible to hit! Suffice to say, I’m pretty confident I’ll be wearing the duck, again. This has been a busy summer, […]
For various reasons, July was busy as hell. Unfortunately, that put me behind in training for the Insane Charity Bike Ride 2015. It also put me a month and a half behind plugging and hyping it. It’s approximately six weeks until the ride…and I’ve lost six weeks of training. I’m trying to catch up now, but […]
HERE WE GO AGAIN! It’s the 9th Annual Bike the Barns ride! Bike the Barn supports FairShare’s Partner Shares program, bringing fresh, organic food from local farms to low-income families in our community. But look – here’s the think: I’m REALLY scared about raising $10,000 for this, this year. This is a huge sum – the […]
