Alas alack, it took my friend Jape to point this out to me:

“In all the celebratory hyperbole over Woodstock’s 40th Anniversary, people are missing the other seminal event that happen 4 decades ago this week: Gen Con II, when Gary Gygax first met Dave Arneson, thereby setting the stage for all things D&D. ”
