Some Nice Things You’ve Missed
posted by John
I’m still hearing a few people tell me that some friendly local comic shop/game store clerks are claiming that Dork Tower and Dr. Blink have ceased publication for good.
This is not so. It just means I need a better way of getting the word out.
I wrote about putting out more Dork Tower and Dr. Blink books HERE. And ICv2 covered the announcement of my return to publishing HERE. As did others. But that’s the basics.
Essentially, this is how things stand, line-up- and schedule-wise:
SOLICITATIONS ARE GOING OUT IN OCTOBER FOR:
Livin’ La Vida Dorka – the Collected Dork Tower Volume IV
Understanding Gamers – the Collected Dork Tower Volume V
1d6 Degrees of Separation – the Collected Dork Tower Volume VI
AND SOLICITATIONS ARE GOING OUT IN DECEMBER FOR:
Dork Decade – the Collected Dork Tower Volume IX
The Tao of Igor – – the Collected Dork Tower Volume X
The new comic books will be solicited when they’re done. With luck, sometime in early 2011.
Also, it may be a while before I build an “official” “Buy John’s Art” page to the web site. But I want to make sure folks keep that in mind, as well. I already have two painting comissions (the Gazebo, and Chicken On Your Head), as well as some drawings of folks in my Munchkin style. Let’s call it “Munchkinization.” It makes a fab Holiday Gift. And I tend to do a lot as wedding gifts as well.
So, in the mean time, I’ll be adding these two ads to rotate on the upper-left hand “ad spot” corner of the DorkTower.com web site:
(Clicking on the ads here should also take to you the relevant MUSKRAT RAMBLING blogs)
If your local retailers have any questions, they can contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. But Diamond, Alliance, ACD and other distributors should soon have the entire line back in stock, and rarin’ to go! If you JUST CAN’T WAIT, I think Amazon has pretty much everything (save “1d6 Degrees of Separation,” which is going for stupid prices from their Used Books partners) in now. The links on the collections above should take you there. But buying from friendly local gaming and/or comics stores IS A VERY, VERY GOOD AND NOBLE THING, and I highly endorse it.
Yer bestest pal forever,
