New Year’s Eve used to be one of my favorite holidays, back in the day. Now, it’s a quieter affair. Part of that comes from no longer being single. There’s no great need to go out and desperately look to hook up with someone when you’re already hooked up with the Love of Your Life.

Which is a good thing, as I never really ever was terribly good at the Singles thing. I remember one New Year’s way back in college when I was able to spend the entire (waking) time with this girl I had a massive crush on, yet never worked up the courage etc., etc., etc. Anyone familiar with my Kim Longacre story knows full well how abysmal I could be at the whole Talking With Females thing. To me, back in college, “Opposite Sex” pretty much defined my entire dating life: it was perpetually the opposite of sex.

So…HUZZAH for finding the person you love most of all.

Now, what are your plans for the evening?

John
