Cthulhu, the Packers and Ireland! Well, they’re all green, for a start…
OK…this week REALLY got by me…I can’t believe I only managed one cartoon online in five days. In my defence, I WAS working on a ton of cool new Out of the Box games, as well as the new edition of Creatures and Cultists from Eos Press (full of crunchy Cthulhu goodness)…and yet ANOTHER secret project…ahem…
But still, it’s a little frustrating, especially as right now, I’ve got a ton of material that I think’s pretty good, and no time to draw it. On the plus side, looking at my schedule, it appears as if the next few weeks should have cartoons online Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, as scheduled. Don’t laugh too loud, but at some point this year I really do want to take the online strip daily, Mondays through Fridays.
On the other hand, with both 1d6 Degrees of Separation and Dork Tower 26 back from the printer, Dork Tower is (gasp! shock!) now OFFICIALLY back on schedule. And I’m going to work as hard as I can to make sure things stay on schedule.
As far as today’s cartoon goes, wow, was last Sunday’s game a gut-wrencher. The playoffs have been great this year, and the Packers/Eagles game was another nail-biter. I prefer blowouts, myself — at least ones where the team you support does the blowing out. But even though the Pack lost, the last couple of minutes of this game were amazing to watch. I don’t blame Favre, myself. In all honesty, the Packers had PLENTY of opportunities to put the game away by that point (4th and 26? Aiiieeee). But I’ll be interested to see how the playoffs progress. In all honesty, I don’t see the Eagles or the Panthers beating whoever comes out on top of the AFC, but stranger things have happened.
I’ll be missing the Super Bowl this year. Notice I don’t say “unfortunately,” since I’ll be in Cork, Ireland again at Warpcon! I’m unbelievably happy and honored to have been invited back, and Warpcon has officially become one of my very favorite cons EVER. If you’re even CLOSE to Ireland, you HAVE to go there! It’s a ton of fun, and I can’t wait to down some Guinness (yes, it really IS better over there…MUCH better), Murphy’s and Jameson once more with the good folk of County Cork! And guess what? Greg Hyland is going to be there as well!
So, no Super Bowl for me. American Football’s the only sport I follow passionately (I’d include Football/Soccer on that list, but here in the States you just don’t get enough of it on TV), so soon I’ll switch the Sports Talk radio off for another eight months.
And that makes the lovely and talented Judith VERY happy…
