ELLSWORTH, WI — A person I know who shall remain nameless (save to say it is not my wife, the lovely and talented Judith) was devastated today when the Green Bay Packers won their frostbound game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not because she hates the Packers. She loves them. But the Packers victory meant that to Minnesota Vikings clinched the NFC Central Division, and this nameless person actually prefers seeing the Vikings do poorly to the Packers doing well. Such vehemence and vitriol is usually more common in charging rhinos or partisan politics, but there you have it.

Me? I just enjoy a good game, and look forward to Both my teams (the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers) fought to the very end, after awful starts to the season. Both finished 9-7, and both were just edged out of the playoffs.
