Dragonmeet, Marcon and More…

I’m still amazed at the deadlines that were met this week, and I’m still exhausted, and there’s still lots more exhausting work to get done TODAY.

But here’s the Big New of the Day.

I’ll be back at Dragonmeet at last!

Saturday, December 4, Dragonmeet bills itself as London’s friendliest games convention, and I’d have to agree. It’s a one-day con, and I hated the fact that I had to miss it last year.

This MAY even turn into a full-blown Dorkstock UK II. We’ll see.

There’s nothing on their website yet about this, since I’ve only just made the announcement. But if we CAN do a Dorkstock, expect:

* An Igor Bar bake-off (basic recipe in Dork Tower 18, 1d6 Degrees of Separation, or HERE

* A Beat John at Blink competition

* An Out of the Box Pentathalon

* A major Dork Tower: The Board Game competition

* Some really cool prizes for Munchkin and Chez Geek competitions

* Maybe some kinda John’s Birthday Blowout Bash (if I’m not utterly depressed by the concept)

* And lots more.

Anyway, it’ll be GREAT to be back!

While on the subject of announcements:

I’m TREMENDOUSLY pleased to say I’ll be returning to Warpcon early next year (though I can’t actually find the dates for that)…

It’s Armistice Day/Rememberance Day/Veteran’s Day.

The eleventh minute of the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. It was near-sacred in Pogo. I should have done something about that…

My dad was a marine, and I get lots of letters and e-mails from folks in the military, which makes me tremendously proud. As I told , I would have made a TERRIBLE member of the military. Maybe not as bad as Igor, but…

Thanks to everyone serving. It sounds trite, but it’s from the heart. It’s deeply appreciated.

Just keep your heads down, you all…then come home and celebrate YOUR Veteran’s Day…
