SEMINAR SATURDAY 10:00 AM AGD13
Graphic Storytelling: John Kovalic

With a story told in a graphic format winning last year’s Origins Award for short fiction, this growing field of industry endeavor needs examination. What are the special skills required to tell a story in a graphic format? How can one get started and what are the prospects for success?
John Kovalic

SEMINAR SUNDAY 1:00 PM AGD20
Once we were geeks: John Kovalic, Greg Stafford, Ty Dobson

An open and frank discussion about the sociology of gaming. The stereotype of gamers as shy, adolescent boys who spend a lot of time in the family basement melts when one takes a look at well known gamers like World Series MVP Curt Schilling. Does the old image, as presented in movies like ET and Mazes and Monsters have any validity anymore? Who are gamers these days, and how should we be seeing ourselves?
